According to the staff, the furnace lining is made of high-temperature resistant ceramics, and the furnace wall is made of metal. In general, inspectors will use two methods when testing the lining thickness of high temperature electric furnaces, stress wave method and capacitance method.
By taking advantage of the fact that stress wave signals have a high sensitivity to structural defects, when stress waves encounter interfaces such as holes and cracks when the medium propagates, reflection, refraction, scattering, and mode conversion occur at discontinuities. Can determine the thickness of the high temperature electric furnace lining stave material.
Another capacitance method is similar to the resistance method. It is a coaxial circular capacitor sensor embedded in the furnace lining. According to the capacitance value corresponding to its length, the thickness of the blast furnace masonry can be determined by measuring the capacitance value. After making some preliminary judgments on some basic data and performance of the furnace lining, the inspectors can judge the thickness of the inner wall of the high temperature electric furnace lining.
